Recently, a young woman approached me after I finished a motivational keynote for a company here in Cleveland. She said that I would love the story she was about to me, especially since my background was in the jewelry business.


She went on to tell me that she had purchased a diamond bracelet and immediately started having problems with it. They fixed it each time without a hassle. The last time it broke, she asked the manager if he could put something in writing in the event that it happened to break again. He told her that wouldn’t be necessary, that she could just bring it to him and he would take care of it.


Well, time went by, and it broke again. The woman took it back to the store but the manager she had been dealing with no longer worked there. The new manager wasn’t willing to fix it for free and challenged the woman as to whether she had even bought the bracelet from their store. Seriously!
